Airborne Composites completed successfully the manufacturing of high-precision sandwich panels for TNO S&I Delft, The Netherlands. Skins are bonded to an aluminum honeycomb core: a process that is performed inside Airborne"s clean room and autoclave facility. The Breadboards measure 2.000 x 1.200 x 100 mm and are a supporting structure for an optical device of the PRIMA STS (star separator) instrument inside the core of the ESO Very Large Telescope. In continuation of this work Airborne received a follow up contract of two more panels to be completed in January 2008.
