Airborne Composites received last week an award of Lockheed Martin for her contribution in the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program. "The innovation and quality of Airborne Composites stand as testament to the dedication and skill of its talented workforce" as stated by Tom Burbage - Executive Vice President and General Manager F - 35 JSF Program Integration. Airborne Composites has worked on the JSF program with Stork Fokker AESP since the beginning of 2003. Manufacturing engineers have performed within the Machining Building Block in Hoogeveen and a stress engineer was part of the center structures team in Papendrecht The Netherlands. Since November 2003 two Airborne specialists (SE and ME) are posted in El Segundo USA, to work in the premises of Northrop Grumman. Work is performed on the engineering and development of the composite In Flight Opening Doors (IFOD) for the new LM fighter aircraft.
